Palimpsest - installation view

Cherry, cherry veneer plywood, graphite on mylar, block printing ink on paper.

This installation represents various artifacts from my childhood home built in 1775 in Frederick, MD recreated from memory and based on reference images. The family farm established in 1755 is known as Dearbought, it exists currently as a planned community of the same name on the 300 acres of former farmland. A palimpsest is a document on which the original writing has been effaced to make room for later writing but of which traces remain.
